Serein
Erotic poetry collaboration
Complete audio version, read by Charlotte and Vianne
This piece was written in collaboration with the wonderful Vianne Armour. You’ll hear both our voices in the audio version too.
Charlotte:
The rain arrives suddenly
An unexpected relief
After the heat, the dust
The desiccation of days
The latent longing
He takes my hand, and says gently
“I know a quiet corner...”
I go with him
So willingly
Towards surrender
There is no shelter
In this secluded place
Only ancient walls,
A generous sky
And rain as a blessing
Vianne:
Serein, light rain at dusk
Has long been a favourite muse
Not to be confused with
Wind or storm
Serein is not the norm
It’s spirtual
Like the feel of your palm
As you lead me
Like I can feel every line and print
A dna made just for me
Even maybe for this moment
My breath shallow as we meander
It couldn’t feel grander,
Timely
A moment highlighted
In dappled light
Streaks frame your face
Like graffiti art lighting an urban alleyway
Were lit up by the set up
Engines bumble like brown noise
And nothing is rushed
Not even the cars
That pass
As though they too
Are appreciating light like artists
Observing and breathing a spectacle
Feeling the divine in the moment
As raw as the rage between my legs
To feel you take me and I you
Not to be delayed
But played out right now
Right here
Whilst raining
Charlotte:
The noise of the world
The people, traffic, transience
All faded by distance
Within these walls
We are safe from all others
Buffered by old brick and plaster
So many secrets cemented
Against the serein
And the storms of ages
But today we share more
Only with these walls
The heavens
And each other
My dress slick against me
Your shirt, soaking too
We peel away our damp clothes
Knowing this –
No one ever comes here
Just you, and now us
Your lips soft against mine
Strong arms hold me close
While raindrops fall gently
Light rivulets on skin
Over us, between us
I open completely
Wanting nothing
But for you to dive in
Vianne:
And I do dive in
Into us, into you, into this
Hues golden and grey all at once
Light nature, urban architecture
And bodies merging
Shadows converging
Your touch is like silk over a knife
Parting my thighs,
As I rise and fall
Riding it all, surfing the curve
Your pressing into me,
I’m merging with thee
I feel you fully now
These brick walls a sanctuary
Pleasure coming at me
All ways, this lavender haze
Revelling us in our ambition
And these rainy conditions
We fuck like alchemy
A potent potion, the weather
A wild commotion,
The loving a wild devotion
And together as we climax
We embrace and celebrate in union
💜

I love how you turned the rain into something so intimate and alive. Beautifully written 🤍
I think this was a very sweet poem because to me it shows the majesty of two souls loving each other and themselves. It teaches one to be thoughtful and caring for their partner, while also generous and confident enough to express what they want and need. It could make for the spark of an engaging longer story. Well done and very well collaborated. Thank-you for sharing your substantial talents.
